What is the best sushi place in LA? (or Malibu)?

Where can I find the Penultimate Sushi Experience? I suspect opinions are strong and varied, please tell me what YOU think?

There is great sushi to be had in Los Angeles.

Citysearch has ranked the ten best sushi restaurants in LA. The website picked Hokusai on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills as the best. MyFoxLA crowned Kaya Sushi in Culver City as the ultimate. Also, "LA Weekly" chose Hiko Sushi on National as the most delicious.

I love most sushi restaurants, but if you don't have a picky palette and you're looking for a good dinner, a great time and a cheap price check out the early happy hour (or late night happy hour on Thursdays and Sundays) at En Sushi in Los Feliz. It's delicious and affordable, and the last time I was there I saw Sandra Oh.

Also, if you find yourself in the valley, Gridskipper recommends Teru Sushi (also I personally love it) and Tama Sushi. Both are on the same block in Studio City.

Asker's Rating:
• This was a tough choice. In mind it was a tie between Danielle and Jcal. But Jcal has (quite fairly) already won several best answers from me. So in this case, I'm going to award to Danielle to spread the love more evenly :)

While those are all great places, I'm sure, if you're looking for somewhere that won't cost you an arm and a leg, my favorite sushi place right now is called Taro's Sushi & Teri. They have great sushi at AMAZING prices.
Of course, the atmosphere of the place leaves a lot to be desired - it's really just a hole in the wall with 5 or 6 seats at a counter. But the food and the savings more than make up for that.
