A Debt Relief Order works in the same way as bankruptcy in the sense that once it is granted, all debts are taken away from the individual. It is highly unlikely that they will be asked to pay anything towards the debt.

This already has a great answer but just to give you more references to check out, I suggest looking into debt relief usa. See if they can help you out. They offer a great service and I'd be surprised if they couldn't help you on this issue. Their site is very informative and worth looking at.
