I'm pretty ashamed of this now that I've gotten older.......the reality is that passive-aggressive behavior isn't going to fix a problem. Having said that - I did find this experience incredibly cathartic.

One of my first employers was a serious nag. I did tech support and she was a problem user. Nothing was ever good enough - all of her mistakes were somehow my fault and she would not listen when I tried to explain thing to her and fought me every step of the way. I didn't have any other employment options and I felt trapped in a job I hated.

One night after a bit of under-age drinking, I decided to encourage her deep seeded belief that computers were out to get her. I set up a script to hit her machine over the network from another computer. It would quickly remap her keyboard for about 2 seconds and swap a single letter with another letter. I set it to run at random intervals and promptly forgot about it. A few weeks later I was moved to another area. Almost a year later I found out that she had replaced her keyboard three times and her workstation twice.

As a side note - I am convinced the guy after me found the script and said nothing about it because he felt the same way.

Like I said earlier - I'm pretty ashamed of this now and it breaches my professional ethics but man it felt good when I found out what happened.

Check out the site in the sources for a running list of interesting experiences people have had in the service industry. It can be pretty funny and is a great time waster.

As an employee I realize that without customers i don't get paid. I may get angry and frustrated but it's all part of the job. Screwing with peoples food like that is messed up big time!

I used to work at a drive up gas station. It pissed me off at how lazy people are.If they asked for a fountain soda, i would fill the cup to the brim with ice,, and then soda, or if they got a 20oz or i would shake it.

Nothing. You can go to jail for doing stupid stuff like that. At the very least, you'll lose your job.

If you can't deal with unreasonable customers, find another job. It's what I did until I learned how to not only deal with the boneheads, but fix their problem and make them happy enough to tell my boss what a great job I was doing.

All that did was make the boss worry about his job and mad at me. :-)

Agreed. I eventually learned to deal with things in this fashion but it does require a certain level of maturity. :)
