I really like designer frames but I only own two pair and one doesn't have my prescription in it yet. My vision isn't bad and I only where them when I'm in school and when I'm driving so I don't need many pairs anyway. Mine are Ralph Lauren though, they are black without a nose piece and have the polo horse on each side. But after I bought them I realized they weren't that special all the other kids had glasses just like them but they weren't Ralph Lauren and very few even noticed mine were and I probably paid 150 more for mine. So all and all next pair I'm not gonna pay as much. I bought a pair of 200 dollar Juicy Couture off Ebay for 15 dollars brand new so its not that I don't like designer glasses, cause I love them but really who cares if they are designer or not.

Oh, yes, many kinds and styles I've collected and had refilled over the years. From tortiseshell color, to pink, to wire frames to antique. I need them for distance viewing (slight correction).
Prescription sunglasses are great! Dark amber tint is best for some people. Ask your opthamologist or optometrist which tinted shades are best for you.
Qualtiy is important, not a name brand.
Costco has great discounted deals, on both designer glasses and Kirkland Signature Brand. So do other places. Pearle Vision, Sears, Penneys, to name a few, offer discounted exams and coupons at times.
So does Lenscrafters.

Look for a one year written warranty against breakage, too.
Titanium and flexible wire frames are great!
