I prefer to do a range of all three. I am training to increase my running speed. however walking and jogging correspond with each other. Walking and jogging the slower paced of the two still involve much needed muscle groups. Without involving these activities into your routine can decrease overall fitness.
But personally I like to run, its a goal thing..

I took the question to be a 'preference' question and not a research question, I apologize for the brevity.

My favorite is running (sprints are the best). This burns way more calories than jogging or walking, and if done properly in intervals (HIIT), it will continue to burn calories for hours after you finish. Also, this will help to build more muscle than jogging or walking (look at a walker's legs and they are not quite as toned as a joggers legs, and then look at a sprinter's legs. Sprinters' have extremely well muscled, well defined leg muscles). If you want to learn about HIIT, you can check out http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/justin6.htm
