With what do the swan uppers toast the Queen at Romney Lock?

Is it beer or wine or something else, I can't tell from the photo. Since the vintners are participating one might think wine; but, what do vintners do in England? Do they really make wine there? Or do they toast with good olde English ale?

This article from 2007 suggests a Chateauneuf du Pape but stops short of saying it was or is used during the toast.

However the Worshipful Company of Vintners was responsible for importing wine from Glascony, Bordeaux wines are from this region. I'd say that it is a safe inference that the Swan uppers toast and toasted with French wine.
The other half of the two companies responsible for counting the swans is The Dyers Company and they once were a company the made clothing dyes but have become a charitable institution and I could find no reference as to their beverage preference.

Asker's Rating:
• The Chateauneuf is just another story on the same page. The vintners do seem to be wine sellers not makers, which explains what they are doing in England. The Queen's swan uppers (the ones in red) are probably the ones to choose, but, I don't know what they choose.
