Putting heat tape on my waterline is my most important winter chore. It's really annoying to wake up in the morning and find out that you have no running water.

A close second would be to put plastic over the windows that get the worst of the wind. It really helps to keep my heating bill down!

Depends really where you live! Most importantly make everyting weather proof for the winter!

clean the gutters and check the furnace.blow out the lines for your sprinkler system and faucets.

Cleaning the leaves in the yard. That's most important, then making sure doors and windows are weatherproofed, etc.
