Well, since it's been so long and nobody answered yet, I'll tell you what I've found.
The Mariana Trench is the deepest part of the oceans and it is located in the Pacific (North) near Guam (it this doesn't tell you anything is it not very far from Japan, The Phillipines and Papua New Guinea).
Now the Gulf Stream is in the Atlantic so there doesn't seem to be a direct conection (I don't know if there could be an indirect connection).
Regarding the Himalayas, it is often used Mount Everest to compare the depth of the trench.
It is said that:
"if Mount Everest, which is the tallest point on earth at 8,850 meters (29,035 feet), were set in the Mariana Trench, there would still be 2,183 meters (7,166 feet) of water left above it."
So it is really deep.
This one comes straight from wikipedia.
