The only suspected major environmental effects of folks such as these was on land, where they are suspected as causes of the extinction of large mammals and of changing the vegetation of the plains area by large scale fires.

They ate most of the marine life that they were able to catch. Clams and Eel, mussles, oysters and lobster. they gathered all types of fish. The Wampanoag Tribe would live next to the ocean after planting of their spring crops.
