Even mild climate change can produce interesting emotions. For example, if you always associated "back to school" time with changing leaves, but now the leaves don't change until about 2 months after you go back to school, that's a cultural shift. Or perhaps you're used to thinking of Christmas (or another winter holiday) with snow--that mental picture of your idealized holiday, with gently falling snow and temps that hover just a few degrees under freezing, and instead you get a blizzard and dangerous windchills. Or a day warm enough to wear shirt sleeves. That kind of thing jars expectations and can make a person feel unsettled, depending on how attached to their environment and culture the person is. It can really throw some people off, especially if they were taught things like the old saying about planting peas on St. Patricks Day--those environmental markers may have moved and the peas might die.
And that's without increasing severe weather or decreasing severe weather--just with the weather patterns shifting 2-3 weeks forward or backward.

Climate change can also cause severe weather, which evokes various emotions. For example, it seems to be linked to stronger hurricanes, and people who are affected will experience sadness and pain.
Of course, people who live in geographical areas that become warmer and sunnier may actually become happier -- provided the idea of climate change does not depress them and negate any positive effects!
