How can the Mahalo community stop the senseless shark finning off Cocos Island, Costa Rica?
Jacques Cousteau once called Cocos Island, halfway between Costa Rica and the Galapagos the "most beautiful island in the world." Though it's in a protected area, fishermen are killing vast numbers of sharks simply to cut off their fins for soup in the orient. How can an online community like Mahalo spread the word and help stop the slaughter?

It can't. This is a site where individuals ask questions and others research the answers. It is not a government body or even a lobbying group. This would be a good place to ask which species of shark live there, for instance, if you didn't know. Or, which pirates buried their treasure there, or even what's a good recipe for shark fin soup. But it's not a place where anything or anybody can be saved from anything.
