Absolutely, although I have to admit the gag is a bit passe. Going as Winehouse two years ago might've been the height of Halloween humor, today it's just a so-so reference.
But do I have any objections to dressing like Amy Winehouse on Halloween? Heck no! It'll be a bit tricky for me since I'm more of a Marilyn Monroe-sized girl (minus the boobs). But I think with copious amounts of makeup on my eyes and hands, and a good 60s beehive wig....yeah, I think it'd be a lot of fun to go as Amy Winehouse!
I'd just have to be careful how far I carried the joke. Carrying a purse full of pill bottles full of Pez candies, M&Ms, or Mike & Ike candies to dispense all night to friends and regularly pop in my mouth?
Kind of funny.
Any more serious drug paraphernalia, even as a joke?
Kind of crude and tasteless.
It's all a big blurry line of taste with Amy Winehouse, isn't it?

Yep, I could do that!

Fortunately, there's a never-ending revolving door of wacky-looking celebrities who pull publicity stunts, if you want to go that route for costumes. Myself, I stick to fandom characters.

I'm what used to be called a "nice Jewish girl". So dressing down as Amy Winehouse (my polar opposite) especially to a Halloween party filled with appreciative gay men (as I have in the past) would be fun!

Plus I like to show off my hair since I'm a redhead and wouldn't want to cover it with a big black mop.
Personally I'd like to see @shadowbear dressed as Miss Winehouse. There's something about seeing chest hair through the top of a dress and leg hair poking out of stockings that really sends shivers down my spine!
My costume? I think this year I might go as a princess or school girl.

I wouldn't consider going out on Halloween as Amy Winehouse. She's more two years ago, so by this point, it's sort of played out. When was the last time you heard anything about her? Fortunately, there's a never-ending revolving door of wacky-looking celebrities who pull publicity stunts, if you want to go that route for costumes. Myself, I stick to fandom characters.

Interesting answer. How would you define fandom characters? I think I have an idea...but it just may be slightly older generation's idea of fandom and not yours.

Well, for me it'd be characters from musicals. Not sure what I'm going as this year.

Sure! Halloween and especially Mardi Gras, Fasching, Carnivale and Purim are holidays focused on "transgression": the breaking of boundaries around gender, class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. Most cultures have had a day or evening for being what you are NOT for a day or evening. I'm what used to be called a "nice Jewish girl". So dressing down as Amy Winehouse (my polar opposite) especially to a Halloween party filled with appreciative gay men (as I have in the past) would be fun!

I'm too curvy and hour glass shaped for an 'Amy' look. I guess I don't drink enough or do enough drugs to have that svelte 'rehab' look. Plus I like to show off my hair since I'm a redhead and wouldn't want to cover it with a big black mop.

No way - I'd be afraid I would get arrested or spit on. Plus she is just too gross. I wouldn't ever want to be associated with her in any regard. http://powerlinead.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/amy-winehouse_smokes.jpg
