She may not have dropped her married title, lots of women want to keep their married name for one reason or another. Some because they don't want to change their name legally, some want to keep the recognition, and some simply want to piss their husbands off.

Not me though, the day my divorce was final I went straight to the social security office that day.

If the marriage didn't end too badly, then some women keep their married name just because it's easy. Filing a name change for everything is a big task. Kind of like trying to remember everywhere that has your phone number and address when you move. Do you really want to call every bank-credit card-website-magazine-etc to change your name?
Unless you really want to drop the name it's not worth the trouble.

Also, if there is a child involved and the child was given the fathers last name, there can be real trouble with things like flights and border crossings if the mother and child have different last names, especially if the mother signed the birth certificate with the father's last name.
