They may be using a smartphone or some other mobile device and find Google hard to use. They may want to know the answer and aren't in a big enough hurry that they need to know right this second. They may prefer to have someone else do the research work and simply provide an answer. Google can be frustrating if the question you want answered has tonnes of results that aren't applicable to your question and you have to wade through them all.

Why do people ask questions that google can answer instantly.
Dont get me wrong i like this site and think its valuable, but i see questions that can be answered instantly by google.

I think, they wanted to get the results without spending time for searching. Google will give so many answers, one has to do some research to find out what one really wants In Mahalo, someone will do the research and put the sources and their conclusions too. So it is still better to ask

It is also possible that they don't know how to effectively search Google. It is a skill. It also depends on how fast you read and synthesize information. Until my children got better at it, I would do the web searches for them and give them a list of links. My daughter one time spent over eight hours looking up information online for a history paper that I was able to find in less than 30 minutes.
