Probably because like me, you loved the early seasons and got hooked on it. Even if the show is not as good as it used to be, we still watch it anyway. Looks like there will only be 1 more season. After 8 seasons, you can't miss the last one.

Because you like to be entertained, you like to be taken to a place you cannot go in your everyday life. It is escapist fare, there is nothing wrong with it, not every show should deal with so-called reality. Television was meant to entertain and Smallville is one of those shows. Just a little escape from the hassles of everyday life, nothing wrong with that. and after watching for a while you get used to the characters. its a good show why not watch it!
