I loveee both but as a child I always preferred Swan Princess. I mean beuty in the beast was awesome before but his form used to scare me as a kid. Swan Princess was a great movie for me and my mom because it kept me calm and the concept of Princess theme haha.
When i think about the beauty and the beast, i think of the frog princess where its up to belle to turn him back kinna thing you know.

"Beauty and the Beast" is hands down the better movie, IMHO. The animation is first-rate. The songs are great (if a little ear-wormy). The story is fairly typical Disney: the lead character has a dead parent; she's plucky; she finds love at the end. Not very feminist, but pleasant.
"Swan Princess" seems very low-rent in comparison. The animation is not as good. The music is forgettable. The story is, well, not that different from typical Disney, but it just didn't seem that interesting.
All IMHO, of course.

I've seen both these movies (as a parent), and I think we own "Swan Princess" on VHS.
