Where is the BEST karaoke in Chicago on a Saturday night? (July 25) Give details, personal vouch/experience would be best. Lots of details!

Going out next Saturday with some good mates. Looking for the best Karaoke place in the city of Chicago. North side is best (Lincoln Park/Albany Park/Wicker Park areas). Please provide plenty of details and make sure that this place still exists, as many great places have shut recently due to the economy.

The place that I like best is Trader Todd's

They have Karaoke for free everyday starting aroud 8:30pm 7 days a week. It does take a little while for the crowd to get going. They have a very tropical feel.

The best part is no cover.

We're located at 3216 N. Sheffield, half a block North of the intersection of Sheffield and Belmont.

If you're taking the train, we're right off the Belmont stop for the Red, Brown and Purple lines.

Playboy Magazine calls Trader Todd's "A great place for Karaoke". We've been voted best for Karaoke by both Aol City Guide and Best of City Search. Trader Todd's has been featured by ABC's 190 North, and Time Out and Where magazines. WGN's Morning News has joined us three times for a live karaoke broadcast! What more could you want?

Trader Todd's has free Karaoke SEVEN days a week starting at 8:30 pm 'til closing.

Lincoln Karaoke is one of the good places I hear about....

There is also a place I have heard of that gives you tokens or something when you sing, which you can turn in for free drinks and stuff.... So the more you perform, the more you're rewarded.... I'll add it to comments if I figure out the name of that place!!! I was told that one was awesome too!!!

Thanks for the answer, though I will need more information, and I left out something of importance. There are only a few of us going out. We're looking for more of a bar scene with karaoke in the background. The suggestion you made seems to be more of a dedicated quiet room for your group, and we don't have enough for that. Also, please include the following information in future responses:

Name?
Address>
Time karaoke begins and ends?
Cover to get in?
