I would look at www.indiewire.com. That's the largest community of indie film makers.

Where can one find an indie filmmaker for hire?
A friend is looking for an indie filmmaker to hire for shooting a short video, but with an artistic bent. Anyone know of someone or some sites where one could be found? There are the obvious large freelance sites (elance, guru, etc), but looking for places more dedicated to indie film making.

• Indiewire is a great resource, would like to see some message boards on the site for posting jobs, but certainly a focal point for the indie film community.

MyFilmmaker.com just launched a free service that will get you 3 bids from pre-qualified filmmakers any where in North America. All their filmmakers have previously completed high quality independent films. Looks like high quality video at good prices
