For good old fashioned schmoopy angsty romance, I think Somewhere in Time and The Princess Bride are good.

The Baz Luhrman version of Romeo and Juliet is good (some people prefer his film Moulin Rouge for romance, but I like R + J better). Pride and Prejudice (BBC version) is good too.

I think Shakespeare in Love is a good one too.

For romantic comedy, there's Four Weddings and a Funeral, and for really silly twisted romantic comedy there's Addicted to Love.
