What was your fave cartoon of all time?

Personally, I'm way into the older cartoons, like Chuck Jones' Tom and Jerry and Loony Toons when Mel Blanc was voicing the characters (I was kind of old school from the beginning it seems). How about you? Was it G.I. Joe? Maybe Voltron? How about the Smurfs? What's your fave cartoon of all time AND WHY?

When I was little, I absolutely loved the Shirt Tales. It ran from 1982-1984. The characters first appeared on Hallmark greeting cards in 1980.

My favorite cartoon series was Belle and Sebastian (1984). I've been trying to find this on DVD, but without any luck.

And when I got a little bit older, it was Jem (1985-1988).

I like The Flinstones. Fred Flinstone made me laugh like crazy. I enjoyed the episodes in which you could see the relationship between him and his mother in law.

X-Men The Animated Series. I was really into Marvel Comics at the time and so I loved when they came out with a cartoon. This is what defined the X-Men to me even more than the movies.

Looney Toons were definitely my fav, especially with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, and Gossamer.

My particular favs were......

When Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck were arguing over whether it was duck season or rabbit season, with Elmer Fudd stuck in the middle wondering who to listen to.

Any of the cartoons that were put to classical music, like the one set to The Barber of Seville where Bugs is a barber and Gossamer gets chased with the electric shaver, or the other one set to classical music where Bugs plays a Viking princess.

I also liked the ones with Bugs Bunny that were set in space with that funny looking, pear-shaped Martian with that little thing sticking out of his head. Those were hilarious! OMG! I totally forgot about the little tiny Martian guy with the green helmet, where you could only see his eyes, and he wore this kind of Roman-looking skirt thing on bottom and had that funny voice. Gosh, I can't even remember his name and he was a fav of mine. My gosh! I haven't thought about these in years! Thanks for the question. You really sparked some memories for me with that question.

Unfortunately, I never cared much for the Roadrunner and Coyote cartoons because they were the same scenario, basically, over and over. They were fun to watch for awhile, but I got tired of them because you always knew what was going to happen.

Sadly, I haven't seen any of these in many, many, many years and I wish I knew if they even still came on television anymore.

With regards to the newer cartoons, such as those made circa 1980's and newer, I have to say I was a She-Ra freak. She was the ultimate little girl's hero back then. I couldn't stop drawing Pegasus horses back then and she was the reason why. She was strong and independent and could handle herself just fine. She was a great role model. In fact, I believe strongly that I grew up a strong and independent woman because of her influence.

It has to be Ren &Stimpy. You eeediot!

The best part were the commercials:
-Don't wiz on the electric fence
-Log

And special guests:
-Powdered Toast Man
-Shaven Yack
-Muddy the mud skipper

I liked the retro style and look of them, while at the same time breaking every cartoon taboo.

The Flintstones are the best. Loved the Honeymooners and the Flintstone characters were taken directly off of that.

"Yabba-Dabba-Doo!"
My fav will be The Flintstones. The Flintstones was produced by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in the early sixties for the working-class adults. The show was aired for 6 seasons on ABC network from 1960 to 1966.

My favorite one was Tom and Jerry. I liked all those clever ( but not really) traps that Tom would set up. When I was little i found it extremely funny how all his plans would backfire. That darn mouse!

Felix the cat, Lol most likely because I have always loved cats. The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg was my favorite. I used to watch it all the time, I still have the VHS. It was already an old cartoon when I was little but that did not stop me from watching it. Here I found it on Youtube.

Even at age 27, I still watch cartoons, and I have to say the my favorite of all time would have to be "Animaniacs". The show is pure genius! I have the first three of the 4 volumes of the show on DVD, and they're still great! Like Looney Tunes, there were loads of characters and types of stories. The songs on the show were fantastic, too, both educational and hilarious. The voice acting was stellar. And, because the show was mostly set on a film studio, they were able to incorporate lots of stars from the golden age of cinema to the then current artists.

Following hot on the heels of "Animaniacs" in favorites would be "Invader Zim", Looney Tunes, "Ren & Stimpy", "Batman: The Animated Series", "Tiny Toons", "Eek! the Cat", "The Fairly Oddparents" and "Spongebob Squarepants", all of which I can watch and enjoy as an adult.
