Since you said the best thing you have bought so far is something by Department of Eagles you should check out some of the following artist since they are similar in sound!

~Ra Ra Riot
~Deerhunter
~Dirty Projectors
~Manitoba
~TV on the Radio
Asker's rating:
Dirty Projectors is pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation!

Love both the Deerhunter and TV on the Radio records from this year...I've heard of the Dirty Projectors but never really given them a try. I'm intrigued.

Well, not knowing what you know about already, the best thing I can think of is to go over to www.pandora.com and put in your favorites, and then see what it streams to you. You can refine the selections by thumbs up or down.

Pandora is part of the Music Genome Project, and it should be able to narrow things down to things you like.

Get something like Jason Mraz or Chris Brown. They have really good music. Chris Brown was just voted artist of the year by some magazine.

Also, They sound identical even though they look nothing like each other.

How about the Jonas Brothers? You should support them, as they played a fabulous performance at Times Square last night in the cold. So, please purchase the Jonas Brothers album with your $25 iTunes gift card.

This may not be up your alley, but the best album I bought this year that people don't really know about is Eric Lindell's Low on Cash, Rich in Love. He does jazz/blues/rock songs from New Orleans--its pretty upbeat.

I listened to the video clip and I think you should try these songs:

White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes

Black River Killer by Blitzen Trapper
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-i1Js32hCA

Buildings and Mountains by The Republic Tigers

To Go Home by M. Ward
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDG2muLgfIE

I think you will really enjoy M. Ward based on what I heard from Dept of Eagles.
