As a comedian, he was a member of "The State", an MTV sketch comedy show. He also hosted MTV's "The Jon Stewart Show" and "You Wrote, You Watch It".
I distinctly remember Jon Stewart as an MTV VJ in the early 90's, before the Jon Stewart show on MTV or the Daily Show on Comedy Central.
