I'm REALLY into the first Kill Bill - I think it's both tounge in cheek as well as cutting edge.
The action is amazing, the blood spurts are comically genius and I don't know of very many directors or writers that take the risks that Tarantino does (i.e. using Japanese animae as a storytelling device in a live action movie).
