It looks like the details are a little hazy at this point, but Rhodes recently released the following statement:
"Nova M Radio has not yet corrected the problem that has kept me off the air despite my strong desire and readiness to broadcast my show. Respecting the employer-employee relationship that has existed between Nova M and me, and expecting the solution to be quickly achieved, details of the disabling event were withheld in good faith. But I can tell you this much: You should not beleive any statement implicating me as being in any way responsible for the disruption in the Randi Rhodes Show. There is no truth to any such message. In fact, I did everything in my power to help Nova M make it possible for me to return.
In light of the most recent developments, my show will be seeking a new home. I would ask for your continued patience and indulgence in respecting my rights during this time. Your unwavering support is cherished. Thank you.
Randi Rhodes"
According to some theories from posters on the forum where I found this message, the 'disabling' event she refers to above is a violent mugging that occurred in late 2007.
Sounds like there is still a bit of mystery, however, as to what exactly led to the disagreement between Rhodes and Nova M.

It has to due with some issue / situation with Nova M Radio.
I just looked into this today and can't get a more detailed answer. I didn't realize she was off the air (thought she was sick or on vacation) until I clicked on the link for her in Nova M. Even the Randi Rhodes Show website is not available, except for her brief message noted above. This doesn't look good, in my humble opinion. She was there less than a year after problems with Air America Radio.

Maybe this had something to do with it:

The article from the Wall Street Journal fails to mention the Founder's Club of listeners who all paid $100.00 a piece to join. I am surprised that NovaM's owners never once went on the air to say they were in trouble, in fact, NovaM's members were never informed of anything much to their dismay.
When contacting Mike Malloy he was extremely negative and was told me that lawyer had said not to discuss whatever happened on air. There is a new network and I am sure that Randi insisted on a free speech clause as she did with Air America and that was not offered.

Does anyone know anything more recent?
