What did you think of the movie Deer Hunter? The one about the Vietnam War?

I thought it was a breakthrough for its time and still shines as an in-depth movie covering the affects of the Vietnam war. This movie was the first to deal with post traumatic stress disorder with soldiers in Vietnam.
I think the 5 oscars speak for themselves with a line up of Robert DeNiro, Christopher Walken, Meryl Streep and John Cazale. This is a classic.
