What are Jon Stewart's 10 most important interviews (so far)?

I'm working on a page for Jon Stewart on Mahalo and would like to add links to his most important work from The Daily Show.

Please list your personal top 10. (If you can only list a few, than that's OK too)
If possible, please include links to the videos available for the interviews on The Daily Show website. (There all there)

First let me get this out of the way: Jon is rather biased. His interviews tend to be more supportive of liberal ideologies. This list will very likely reflect that. Nevertheless I get a sense that he cares about what he does, and a genuine honesty shines through his interviews and humor. Here are the interviews that have impacted or impressed me on the Daily Show.

1) Easily the Jim Cramer interview. Most watched, and got many people thinking about the "integrity" of financial news making. Also, the most viewed on the daily show website.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-march-12-2009/jim-cramer-extended-interview-pt--1

2) This was a revealing interview with Douglas Feith, undersecretary of Defense to Donald Rumsfeld, instrumental to selling the idea of the Iraq War to the United States.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/13/jon-stewart-interviews-do_n_101527.html

3) Cliff May, the president of think tank The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, gets at the heart of Gitmo and torture and its place in American foreign policy.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-april-28-2009/cliff-may-extended-interview-pt--1

4) His interview with Betsy McCaughey, former lieutenant governor of New York, unearths some infamous misrepresentations of the Health Care Act that are circulating in the equally infamous "town hall debates".
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-august-20-2009/betsy-mccaughey-pt--1

5) I think that Jon's interviews with Huckabee are the most interesting and thought-provoking. It showcases his ability to reason through his points clearly while getting the same from his interviewee. Here's part one of a December, 2008 interview, which showcases the even, fair sort of dialog that Stewart's interviews tend to foster.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-december-9-2008/mike-huckabee-pt--1

6) In light of recent health care debate, Jon's interview with Bill Kirstol exposed a critical flaw in the interviewee's argument, raising an important point about government healthcare.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-july-27-2009/bill-kristol

These have struck me as great examples of Stewart's "journalistic style" and a survey of how he can get to the heart of important issues.

Hope this gets you started!

Thanks for your answer,

I think Jon doesn't try to hide the fact that he has liberal leaning views.
But he also points out that his show is a "comedy show" and not a "fair and balanced" news program.

That said, I think he is always gives guests with "opposing views" the chance to speak their opinion, no matter how much he disagrees with them, and does a good job of keeping out of shouting matches. There are articles written about how Conservatives enjoy coming on his program for those very reasons.

Though he does have trouble on occasion asking the tough questions to those he agrees with. In many of those cases, he stays more in the comedy/entertainment part of the show. Which is one of the advantages he has by not having a "serious news" program.

I agree wholeheartedly, which is what has always attracted me to Stewart's program. For that same reason, I find this topic very interesting and worth my time as well as this community's. The comedy portion of the program is what makes it difficult to find "important" interviews, but he still does a decent job of expressing the questions on the lips of many of his fellow citizens.

Thanks again @madgolertom,
"The comedy portion of the program is what makes it difficult to find important interviews"

This is true, but sometimes the comedy on The Daily Show is as good or better than the "news" segments.
Case in point, Jason Jones "Behind the Veil" in Iran.
It's a bit long (4 part series), but well worth the watch if you haven't already.

Part 1: Minarets of Menace

Part 2: Persians of Interest

Part 3: Ayatollah you so

Part 4: The kids are Allah right

Hi @andrew44232,
Your welcome to post your own list, even if it's just the Bill O'reilly interview.
But either way, here is Bill on The Daily Show November 13, 2008

Proof of the significance of his McCaughey interview: she resigned from her position as a director at Cantel Medical Corp (they work on infection prevention and control products) a few days after her Daily Show interview. She did not want to appear to have a "conflict of interest" in the healthcare debate.

On Oct. 24, 2004 the NY Times penned "Whether he likes it or not, Mr. Stewart's mix of news and satire has become so successful that the comedian is suddenly being criticized for not questioning his guests with Tim Russert-like intensity. (It has been that kind of campaign.)

Some critics insist that the size of Mr. Stewart's audience should force him to take a more serious approach. "The Daily Show" now attracts more 18- to 34-year-old viewers than the network news."

In my opinion, Jon Stewart's top 10 interviews have been.

Bill Clinton, Episode #12118, 9/20/07
Kramer, Episode #14036, 3/12/09
Betsy McCaughey, Episode #14115, 8/2/09
George Carlin Episode #8110, 3/10/04
Steve Carell, Episode #10103, 8/15/05
Richard Lewis Episode #5113, 3/27/01
Chris Matthews, Episode #10103, 10/2/07
Borat Sagdiyev Episode #11138 11/02/06
Barack Obama, Episode #12110, 8/22/07
Miss Piggy Episode #4002, 7/13/99

How could i forget the Bill O'Reilly interviews? A classic! I guess I got him confused with Chris Mathews.

Maybe I read "Chris Matthews Is Becoming the Left’s Bill O’Reilly" from the LA Progressive.

http://www.laprogressive.com/2008/11/19/chris-matthews-is-becoming-the-left%E2%80%99s-bill-o%E2%80%99reilly/

"But somehow, Hardball host Chris Matthews is morphing into the network’s Bill O’Reilly, trying to out-stink Mr. Orally (as Olbermann calls him). His dislike of Bill and Hillary Clinton was obvious throughout the primaries, whether through comments, questions, or being written all over his potato-like face whenever they were a topic of discussion."

It looks like madgolertom got most the classics, I'd like to add a couple where Jon Stewart really uses his conservative opponents to share the the liberal side complicated arguments, the ones you rarely hear in mainstream news.

First, an interview with Ramesh Ponnuru about Abortion.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/33749589@N07/3846010347/

Second, an interview with Bill Bennett about Gay Marriage
http://www.flickr.com/photos/33749589@N07/3846040703/
--quote--
Bennett Look, it's a debate about whether you think marriage is between a man and a women.

Stewart:I disagree, I think it's a debate about whether you think gay people are part of the human condition or just a random fetish.
