I don't believe the show was fixed. I think the viewers got a bit tired of all the Adam Lambert drama, just as they did with Susan Boyle. I also believe he didn't win because all of Danny Gokey's fans started voting for Kris Allen. At the time that Simon Cowell said that he thought Lambert would win, he was at the time the clear front-runner. He just couldn't keep it fresh when it mattered most.
