On this season of Hell's Kitchen, does anyone else think Joseph is a plant?

This "ex-Marine" seems a little too irrationally angry and willing to blow prize money for no reason. Would a former Marine really have that much trouble with authority??

I'm wondering if the producers didn't "plant" him in the show for dramatic flare - I mean, who tries to FIGHT Ramsay just for asking the nominees' names? It just doesn't add up to me. I can only imagine he's really an actor. What do you think?

You know, the same question came to my mind - He seems AWFULLY confrontational considering that Ramsay is eventually going to be his boss if he wins.
Did you notice what he was saying during their lunch? I thought all of his comments were weird, especially insulting Ramsay who is supposed to be the one giving him a restraunt. He may be a plant!!!
I doubt it matters - my money says he's gone anyway after THAT display!!
OMG - LOVE that show!

I also have a theory that they may bring the Japanese girl from last season back - the one who left early because she sprained her ankle in the kitchen? Ramsay let her keep her jacket and she left with honor - as did Robert!!

Mark my words!!!

I forgot about that girl keeping her jacket. Maybe they will bring her back just like they did with Robert. I can't wait to see what happens!

I don't know, I think he is genuine. Unless he is a really good actor, I think he is a real contestant. He's just a hot head looking to get into a fight. He wanted to fight chef Ramsay because Ramsay kept insulting him and he didn't want to take it. Guess we will have to see what happens on Tuesday.

@soundboy, but that's the thing - Ramsay wasn't even insulting him. Otherwise I might believe the hot head thing. I don't know...

Yep, he insulted him in the kitchen. But before that...back at the signature dish introduction, he was giving Ramsay lip for - well, not exactly insulting. It was more criticism of a veg not being cooked, I think. Ramsay asked him to eat it, and he refused without a fork. Remember?

Besides that, there's always the case of asking him who the nominees are. But *maybe* you can explain that he was still mad from the kitchen. I'm not so sure.

I think he was just an idiot and gave up! Ok, ok, I haven't seen enough episodes of this season to make fair judgment, but that's what I think. He was trying to look cool on TV. If there was ONE person I would NOT want to get in a fight with, I think it's Gordon Ramsay! He likely just figured he had no chance of winning so he'd try and claim some fame as the guy to cause trouble. Or maybe he really is that stupid and thought Ramsay would like, congratulate him on his confidence!

After the "on the next episode" though, I can't WAIT to see it! Anyone have any ideas whats happened?

Yes he does resemble a venus fly trap.....lol

But if he is I like it, because it is about time someone stood up to that crazy man, he talks to those people any kind of way, calling them names and stuff.
