We've always included kids in our parties, so I can give you some good suggestions for keeping them entertained.
Make a Halloween bean bag toss game. I just made one yesterday for our party, and it's all from stuff I had around the house.
I cut two pieces of cardboard about 16" x 24" and cut a hole in one about 6" around about 1/3 of the way from the end. Taped two short ends together to make the pieces hinged, with the hole nearest the hinge.
Cut a narrow strip about 18" long. Fold about 1-1/2" back on each end and tape (or hot glue) them to either end of your hinged pieces so that you have a triangle shape.
I used an old plastic tablecloth to cover mine, but if the cardboard is plain you could even let the kids decorate it up with construction paper, paints, crayons, or whatever, depending on their ages and how much mess you want to deal with.
If you can make enough beanbags that each kid can have one, that would help because they won't fight over who has them and they could take them home as party favors. Kids really seem to enjoy beanbags for some reason.
If not, make at least two or three. They aren't hard to make, just cut two squares of a sturdy fabric and stitch around the edge, leaving a hole to fill it with dried beans, corn, or rice, and stitch it closed. They don't have to be fancy, but be sure the seams are good and tight!
You can use any scraps of fabric, denim from old jeans or the good sections from old towels, something somewhat durable. You can make some really cute beanbags from felt just by going around the outside edges with a contrasting color blanket stitch on a sewing machine, only takes a few minutes.
Young kids will just have fun throwing the bean bags through the hole, and older kids can keep score. You could even have a tournament for the kids and I wouldn't be surprised if the adults wanted to play, too. Offer some little prize to the winner, but not candy because they'll probably already have enough.
If you don't have time for beanbags, you can let them toss a ping pong ball or other lightweight object through the hole. If you're outside, let them use marshmallows! But I really recommend the beanbags. After they're done with the game, our kids usually go outside and run around and play bean bag tag.

Need ideas to do with kids at adult Halloween party. Two couples are bringing children and now we need to figure out something fun for kids
Any suggestions that can be thrown together fast and easy and with supplies I would have around the house already. They are bringing 8 kids to an adult oriented party so it is going to be awkward. I need activities to interest the kids. Please help!!

Thank you! I hope your party was a success. I never did get the beanbags made for mine, but the kids had a great time throwing hard, stale marshmallows at the target. And then at each other.

do some type of pinyada halloween thing so they can entertain them selves while they get candy... Killing two birds with one stone... Do some games like fetching apples in fruit punch with there mouths... Have them make candy apples or caramel apples. carve pumpkins... The list goes on and on... Mike !
