Definitely The Next Generation.
1. The Holodeck. Even though they're good for screwing up horribly once a season, they're totally worth the risk.
2. Captain Picard. Who doesn't want to work with Professor X?
3. The Borg. Seven of Nine is where USB is headed. Can't wait.
4. I don't remember a bar on Kirk's Enterprise.
5. You've gotta love a military organization that will put a kid to work on the deck of their flagship.
6. In TNG, the captain isn't the only one getting laid.
7. A gold-painted 80's-style headband can help a blind man to see. That's progress!
8. No android and hologram persecution.
9. Yar+Troi+Crusher+Dax+Kira+7of9+Janeway > Uhura, albeit barely.
10. No Tribbles.

Since I'm intuitive, I'm sure I'd fit in well with the group!
But, I really enjoyed wearing the cute short red Uhura dress for Halloween once.

In the Enterprise era, you have the joys of being in at the start of space exploration, making first contact etc.
In the TOS era, still plenty of boldly going where no man has gone before (sorry gals!). Klingon and Romulans wars, and basically it's like the 60s, but in space. Skimpy clothes are in.
In the TNG era, the tech has evolved considerably, and you get to be part of a community of diverse species. Clothes are not skimpy, but skin tight. However, you are going to live through a Borg attack and the Dominion War.
I say "live through". That would be the best case scenario! :)
All in all, I'll go for the TOS era, as long as I don't have to wear a red shirt.
Advantages...
- Relatively peacable times, yet with plenty of adventure too
- Men can get away with not being uber-fit
- Women don't wear much, and some of them are green
- A pretty carefree attitude prevails, thing are not quite so uptight as later on
- Your chances of being assimilated by the Borg or dispatched by the Jem'Hadar are low. You only have those pesky Klingons to deal with, and ones with a poor excuse of a forehead at that. Easy by comparison. :)

Living on Voyager, taking a decades long journey to reach back to the Alpha Quadrant.
First part of the series finale, was well put together. It was very suspenseful, very likely , perfect mix of space and time travel.
The experience to explore a different sector of space, that no one in the Alpha quadrant would ever get the chance.

By the time TNG came along everyone was so neurotic about being ship-shape that they *needed* the holodec to maintain some sanity.
And in the Enterprise era, everyone was too neurotic trying to figure out their place in the universe to relax and just explore.

I would like the 1st gen, if I where kirk and got all the girls. Also I would always feel safe not wearing a red shirt when I went down to the planet. The first one also had the social dramas of the time. They challenged rasizem, pollitcs and was more SiFi then the rest. I liked the Star Treks

TOS era. People just seemed more normal and natural, somehow. By the time TNG came along everyone was so neurotic about being ship-shape that they *needed* the holodec to maintain some sanity.
And in the Enterprise era, everyone was too neurotic trying to figure out their place in the universe to relax and just explore.
