The show is produced by the South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker
who say...
"In the 10 years since we were introduced to the How's Your News?' crew, their unique perspective has made us smile even in our darkest and most troubled times," said Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Executive Producers. "We think How's Your News?' can do for the country what it has done for us."

If you ever watch South Park, not only is it one of the most crude shows out there, its honest and it gets everything right, it is possibly the best program ever to air on television, says I. I will reserve judgment on "How's your News" for now because I have yet to see it, however I think watching the reactions of people will make for much more to laugh at then laughing at people with disabilities. Either way...the envelope has been pushed

Being on MTV, my initial reaction was not that the producers were going too far, but that the people usually watching MTV for it's television content might simply watch this show looking for cheap thrills and an opportunity to laugh at people with disabilities.

After watching the promo video, it looks to me that it might be presented in a more "reality tv show" way. Focusing on the experiences of the newscasters and what goes on behind the camera. If they can stick to the stories of each person and not focus on the disabilities as major story elements, then this does have potential.

Sadly, if they do go this route, I don't think MTV is the right channel to host the show. It would probably be more at home on a channel like TLC where emotionally charged reality TV is expected.

All in all, I think this might turn out to be pretty good. It will all come down to how the show is presented.
