I thought he did well, though I didn't identify with him well as Scotty. My favorite scene was where he was caught in the water pipes. He was on top of his game, I'm just not sure about the casting choice. His introduction to Kirk and Spock worked for me, though. That's when I was most able to identify with him in his role. After that, the affiliation with him as Scotty got kind of weak for me. He is an upbeat personality, though, and Scotty always had that going for him.
