Has anyone ordered movies online from Cafe DVD?

Has anyone ordered movies/DVDs online from CafeDVD.com? If so, do you order a la carte or do you have a monthly subscription plan? Tell me about you experiences with this company, please. For instance, what has been your success rate at finding a film you want available NOW as opposed to SHORT WAIT, WAIT, LONG WAIT of N/A? Any other comments?

I have not, but after reading the question I decided to check it out. I have to admit I was fairly unimpressed.

I'll use the below to compare pricing. CafeDvD vs Amazon.

http://www.cafedvd.com/cgi-bin/new/code/302180.html
The new price is respectable as would be the used if they had it in.

vs

The new price is great and this is for the special edition. The used prices however are insanely low, many marked at below $1. The thing to be careful of is the shipping but even then the total comes to under $4 in many cases.

As far as the rental service that would be harder for me to address, one thing you may want to research is how close are you to a mailing hub. I live one town away from a Netflix hub and the speed at which I get movies back is fantastic. I <3 my Netflix

Just found this in CafeDVDs features . . .
"For fast turnaround time - unlike our competitors - we start processing your next queued movies as soon as you drop your returns in the mail. In order to use this feature, simply click "mailed back" button on or after you drop off your movies at your local post office. Even if you are located far away from San Francisco where we ship all our movies from, you can expect a quick turnaround time" http://www.cafedvd.com/cgi-bin/new/membership.html

So if you live on or near the west coast you can expect quick mailings & it ships when you mail so that would help.

Thanks, cheapgamer. I found the same quote on cafedvd's site that you did. Here's MY experience. I ordered rental dvds from CafeDvd.com two days before I ordered dvds from Netflix. CafeDvds shipment arrived 1 day AFTER Netflix...and I live in the same city as CafeDVD headquarters, San Francisco - from where they ship.

I posed the question to see what other people's experiences were. I appreciate your thoughtful answer. As to the DVDs for sale not being available. I created a list of about 120 DVDs each in my queues. Netflix claimed to have 100% NOW. CafeDvd claimed about 50% NOW. A big difference!
