Family fun : What are your rules for playing Settlers of Catan?
Every family has a different set of rules for playing Settlers of Catan.
One rule, we have is not using a the soldier to block another player. We consider it rude and rudeness is not rewarded. You can still get the largest army but not beligerently.

2) No using traitor cards on level 3 knights. That's really annoying.
3) This one's not too much of a rule, but it is common practice. Whenever someone comes to within one victory point of winning, and no one else is close, everybody teams up and tries to stop them. Usually the person who was winning loses and someone else wins.
Those are about all the modifications to the rules that I normally play with.
