I believe you are talking about the episode in Series 2 of the New Series - "Rise of the Cybermen".
The Tardis had fell through a hole in the Time Vortex - and the explosion was caused by a crash landing. So therefore the Tardis wasn't "pushed" into the parallel world - but fell through a hole into the parallel world.

Doctor Who : In the Cyberman episode (Season 2), what causes the explosion that push the Tardis into the parallel dimension?
The Doctor, Rose, and Rickey are talking and suddenly a massive explosion propels the Tardis into space. The doctor discovers the eye of harmony has been destroyed. The doctor says, "they in nothing", but Rickey opens the door and says, then nothing is London. How did the doctor get to the parrallel universe?
