Doctor Who : In Doomsday, Doctor Who retrieves two clamps, but he sends Rose with her father. Who was the second clamp for?

Why did the Doctor retrieve two clamps.

Good observation!

Here are some possible ideas:
  • He knew Rose was going to return?
  • He wanted one clamp for his left hand, and one for his right?
  • He wanted another one just in case on would get sucked inside the void?
  • For extra support?
  • (The Doctor Who Team probably didn't realise - ie a crucial mistake!)
  • The Doctor wanted his best Cyberman friend Cyber210 to survive. (Unlikely).
It is most likely that Rose had to have one as well, the production team didn't think this out and had no possible explanation as to why he had two
