I actually had to look this up because I had never heard him before. I had seen all the headlines of how this guy had "blown america away," but haven't heard him sing until now. His voice was good. That being said, he is no Garth Brooks. Not saying he won't develop into the next Garth ... but Garth has years and years of professional voice training that normal people don't experience. Hopefully now that Kevin Skinner has become a household name he will be able to pursue his dream of singing and develop his vocals to become one of the greatest singers of all time, such as Garth.

Considering he must have been nervous, I think he sounded every bit as good as Garth. I didn' t want him to stop. Great choice of song. Charming personality. He's going to get a lot of proposals!

It's really intresting that the young black man speaking to Kevin before he went on stage mimicked his (caucasion) southern voice after he left to go perform. I wonder how well a white person would do making the same comment in a psudo-black accent if the individual had been african american, Very much a classless reverse descrimination act... I agree ...Mon38. You'd think people would have enough of "judging the book by its cover" after the Susan Boyles incident. I thought right away how sincere Kevin looked and my heart went out to him the minute he started talking because you could just tell in his tone and his eyes that he was sincere. The young black man backstage wasn't the only one mimicking Kevin. I could see the judges halfway doing so as well. They all thought he was a fake. I love a man with a deep southern accent like his and I love Country music; and I'm black. So you see, "books" are being opened all around the world these days and people should stop "labeling" and just accept one another. I hope Kevin holds on to who he is too.
