Did Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine show that in Canada, where a lot of people legally own guns, there is not a lot of gun crime?

I'm not sure about the specific show, but in general there is no causation from gun ownership numbers to crime. That is, just because a country has a lot of citizens who own guns does not mean they have a lot of crime. Switzerland, for example, requires that every adult male own a military-style rifle to defend their home and their homeland in case of attack; it is a very peaceful country and has relatively low crime. On the other side, England and Australia have banned citizens from owning guns (though criminals still have them) and have seen enormous spikes in crime.

As you can imagine, good people own guns for hunting, for shooting sports, and for self-defense. Bad people steal guns and have them illegally, and use them offensively. Laws don't stop the bad people - after all, criminals are people who break the law. That is also why gun control doesn't work - only the good people (who wouldn't hurt others anyway) obey them.

As for Micheal Moore, his thoughts are intriguing and get people talking about things, but are often filled with falsehoods. So, just like anything, corroborate with multiple sources of information, just like I have to bring you this answer.
