It's about a normal disfunctional family. Peg is the mom from the back hills with a love of big hair, an aversion to house work and cooking and a woman who never gets enough sex from her husband. But she loves him anyway.
Al is the dad of the family. He married a preganat Peg right out of high school after being a one time star for high school football. He lives the dream of the past, never got a job better than working in a shoe store, does not like fat women, loves his old car and can never win.
Kelly is the ding bat blond daughter with a lot of spice and no sense in her pretty head. But she loves her parents, picks at her brother and is trying to follow in moms footsteps as far as house work and cooking go. But everyone loves her anyway.
Bud is the son. Smart, short and for the longest time a virgin looking to get laid. He is the next generation of the Bundy family losers. But we love him.
Buck is their wonderful dog who has his own opinions no one but the tv audience can hear.
Their neighbors are one skinny woman with a bit of the lib, first husband worked hard but left her, second husband did not work, was great looking and had a secret somewhere in his background.
It's a great show and everyone should watch at least one season.

I had several friends who liked it, and I respected their opinions. But, it just wasn't my cup o' tea.

The series' 11-season, 262-episode run makes it the longest-lasting live-action sitcom on the Fox network. The show's famous theme-song is "Love and Marriage" by Frank Sinatra from the 1955 television production Our Town.
The first season of the series was videotaped at ABC Television Center in Hollywood. It is unknown where the remaining seasons were taped.
The series was produced by Embassy Television/ELP Communications, with production being assumed by successor studio Columbia Pictures Television (and eventually Columbia TriStar Television). Part of Sony Pictures Television's library, it aired in syndication on FX in the United States from 1999 to 2008 and began airing on Spike and TBS in 2008, and on TV Land in 2009. It also airs on TVtropolis in Canada. On November 15, 2008 it began airing on The CW Plus.

Was one of my least favorite American comedies - I didn't like the characters and I didn't think they were funny. It was on long enough and was popular enough that - every now and then - I would force myself to watch an episode, just to see if it had changed or I had changed; I still disliked it. I had several friends who liked it, and I respected their opinions. But, it just wasn't my cup o' tea.

Married with children is an old TV show. The father was a salesman at a shoe store. He did not have manners. In my opinion, he was the perfect example of a working man that is a bad husband and father. The mother was a stay home mom. She dressed sexy, wore a lot of makeup and she was a lousy housewife. For example, cooking was not one of her skills. They had two kids. The teenager girl took after the mother and she was not intelligent. The boy was kind of clever, but most of the time, he was only interested in getting girls and having a physical relationship with them. He was not lucky. I believed they also had a dog. I think the dog was the only normal being in that family.

Married... with Children or Married with Children is an American sitcom about a dysfunctional family living in Chicago that lasted 11 seasons. The show, notable for being the first prime time television series to air on Fox, debuted on April 5, 1987, and aired its final first-run broadcast on June 9, 1997. The series was created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt. The show was known for handling non-standard topics for the time period, which garnered the then-fledgling Fox network a standing among the Big Three television networks (ABC, CBS and NBC). The series' 11-season, 262-episode run makes it the longest-lasting live-action sitcom on the Fox network. The show's famous theme-song is "Love and Marriage" by Frank Sinatra from the 1955 television production Our Town.
