Jack released enough natural gas in the safe room to create an explosion.
Bill then grabs a weapon and sets off the explosion, killing himself
..... an assassin immobilizes Jack with nerve gas and frames Jack for murder.

After recovering, Jack escapes the hospital with the FBI on his tail.

Um.. well.. who wouldn't be disappointed??? lol....

I gave up on that improbable show in the 3rd season!
