A web series differs from a TV series in the running time, revenue, development and slightly on the structure.
A web series costs in the thousands to make while a TV series ranges in the millions. Mostly because a TV series tends to be at least 30 or more minutes long compared to a web series that last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes per episode. Also, a TV series makes more revenue because TV ads are charged more and pay the network directly compared to web ads that only pay if the ads are clicked.
A web series still has to have a good structure on how the story goes but it's not as strict on it as a regular TV show would be. You may have noticed how some scenes on a web series seem to have a lot of bad acting. But they do follow some sort of guidelines.
