Accelleration is believable for an electric vehicle.
As for the 10 minute charge, if theu are using Lithium Polymer batteries and hit them with a high charge rate - sort of like a shotgun blast of energy - the 10 minutes from dead flat to {unspecified level} is certainly possible. However that type of charging would have a dramatic effect on the life of the battery pack.
And they won't be cheap !!

Is the Shelby Aero EV real or vaporware?
I read about the Shelby Aero EV which claims 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds and 10 minute recharge. This seems outlandish and impossible. Is this even possible?!?! More here:

It might be vaporware; however, it is totally possible. Remember battery charge time is a function of how big each cell is. If instead of having a few larger cells you went with hundreds of smaller ones you will greatly decrease your charge time. The draw back is creating all these individual cells and linking them together.

It may sound too good, but then again who knows... They made a car that goes 0-60 in 2.5 seconds called the Bugatti Veyron, so it's very possible to get one to be tantamount to that 0-60 speed. You have to question where they tested this, what were the road conditions like, what was the weather like, and was the vehicle going downhill. You have to imagine temperature would have a different affect on an electric vehicle. Fastest Cars In The World: Top 10 List 2009-2008

While the stats seem on the edge of possible something tells me that in the current economic climate the truth may have been adapted a little to secure funding for new auto tech development. The traditional auto trade is in the pan and I think we'll see a lot more electric supercars announce thier arrival in a similar manner. What I'm looking forward to is when the auto trade take electric cars mainstream and begin the price war.
