I am not really sure what type of answer you are looking for here, but I can say as a MacBook Air user, I love it. It's perfect for someone like me who does not need the dozens of USB ports or an optical drive, but still has the speed and portability to be my everyday driver.

The MacBook Air is a limited use machine. The fact that it is extremely expensive and does not integrate an optical drive makes the price stand out. If you have ever used one it is apparent how slow the machine actually is. And to top it off the hinges as well as the usb port door is known to break. It's overall a very low-end machine but is very light. You are better off buying a new macbook as they are slightly thicker but the benefits are far better. It's less expensive, more powerful, more storeage available, user replaceable battery, powerful chip set. The trade off is the size and weight.
