Most doctors will not prescribe Adderall for a child under the age of 5. However, it's important to keep in mind that this medication may not work well for everyone. Adjusting and finding the right one can take a lot of time. The long lasting and short acting formulas are different. The long lasting formula worked best for my son, but all children are different. He started taking it at the age of 6. Not all children will exhibit the side effects associated with the drug. Contrary to popular belief, the side effects are typically mild and the main one is lack of appetite. As I mentioned previously, it will depend on the individual. Some drugs similar to these are not approved for children under a certain age. I would consider doing additional research concerning this. However, Adderall has done wonders for my child. Good luck.

Great answer. I don't have a child yet, but I plan on having one when I get older, and I have ADHD so most likely my child will as well
I think that is something that is per patient. Just because it is good for one 12 year old to take the drug, it does not mean a 12 year old with a similar need for Adderall should also take the drug.
never, unless you want to be an emotionless zombie
I take it, I don't think I am a emotionless zombie, maybe if you did not really need to take the pills. I cry when my cats die, I love my boyfriend, I feel pain. Lol.
