In short, it is a set of files needed to write programs that use QuickTime.

Now, in detail.

SDK stands for Software Development Kit. This Kit is a set of files, libraries, references etc. Theses things are used by software developers to write programs that use the kit. Many times, the program they write needs parts of the Kit in order to run. So you will get part of the Kit when you get the software.

QuickTime is a product from Apple. It is a product used in video playback.

You may have the SDK because you installed a game or video tool that uses QuickTime. The game or tool probably needs the SDK in order to run correctly.
