Get a book that has sample SAT tests, there are many out there in a Borders or Barnes & Noble. Work with someone that is qualified to help you, such as a tutor. I work with students all the time on the SAT. Remember on this test not to guess, unless you can narrow the answers to 2 or 3 , because any incorrect answer on the multiple choice deducts 1/4 a point. Do the questions you understand first, anything taking more than a minute, skip and come back to. You MUST get the easy questions correct to have any chance of scoring well. The questions are arranged from easiest to most difficult. On the math self response questions, guess all you want if you don't know that answer because there is no penalty for incorrect answers in that section.

You can take courses from Kaplan specifically for improving SAT scores. You can also get books take practice tests, then check your answers, if you get them wrong review those questions. Also you can get the "word of the day" sent to you to help build your vocabulary.

Look at your score breakdown to see what types of questions you got the most wrong and focus on those areas first.
