I am going to have to go with the civilization of ancient Egypt. They have left us a legacy of art and architecture that to this day we still imitate. I doubt any modern society could replicate the construction techniques they used to craft the sphinx and pyramids. They had a very rich culture full of religion, mythology and lore, a complex political system and many gifted thinkers.
