When I am sick or have poor appetite, I go for tomato soup and grilled cheese. Instantly makes me feel like my mom is right there to heal me lol. Generally though, I am a HUGE fan of chowders and bisques. They take time to make properly though, but I did find a quick fix: I pick up Campbells V8 soup in the carton containers - I get the Butternut Squash variety and then mix in a can of creamed corn. The texture and flavor is amazing! Then I find a nice baguette kind of bread (crunchy outside, soft inside) and chow down!

Just pick some vegies from the fridge ( potato, carrots, celery, onion, etc ) chop and fry them up to get that nice fried-flavor. Add water and curry powder and a few herbs, let it cook for an hour on low then serve with bread.
Doesn't matter what's in the fridge, it always tastes great and fills me up. I add beans or noodles or lentils to it too and it just makes it tastier
yum!

When I have the time I love to cook my own version of Butternut Squash Soup. Allrecipes.com has some fabulous recipes for this. Not too difficult and very delicious. One thing I add, whether in the recipe or not, is a few chunks of tart peeled apple (such as Cortland). It adds to the flavor.

My favorite soup is Butternut Squash. Wolfgang Puck makes a great canned version of this. I love it with oyster crackers! It's warm and filling and not too creamy. Great for a quick lunch.
