It affects Alaska, and Alaskans in a big way.

Alaska's largest city, Anchorage, is located only 100 miles away from Redoubt. The citizens of Anchorage have had to deal with ash falling since the end of March, carrying dust masks and goggles with them when they go outside. their cars have panty hose over their air filters, and right after the first eruptions, many of the stores ran out of panty hose.

People in the other areas are less effected by the eruptions, although air travel, which is important to get around the largest state in the nation, is severely hampered by eruptions and volcanic ash clouds.

Chevron has suspended all of its oil production in Cook Inlet, just outside of Anchorage. Chevron operates 10 platforms in Cook Inlet, and shutdown two of them last week, and the remainder of them as of last Sunday afternoon.
