Note: you can simply activate a portal to and out of the deepest level via reading a stone that resembles a grave.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Get more hearts on final Bellum fight?
So somehow I ended up fighting Bellum (final form) with only 3 hearts. Ohjoy. Is there anyway to get more hearts from this situation? I have no potions and I'm finding it difficult to get anywhere with only 3 hearts.

sorry, if you meant on the wreck of the ghost ship, you can boat back to (or if you have the warp tablet, warp to) an island, buy potions, and get more hearts.
